There used to grow a pear tree I liked dearly. It never looked healthy and was always occupied by busy ants, but it offered a perfect picnic spot. One warm spring day I brought my collection of ceramic tea set and a turtle magazine, which I never read, and sat underneath the tree while sipping on invisible tea.
The day I learned the tree is going to be cut down, I was very sad. This year, two decades later, I planted my own pear tree and am looking forward to the day I will be drinking tea underneath it again.
What was your favourite outdoor spot?
Did you go on picnics too?
Until next week, cheers! - Mojca
Picnics are still my favourite way of eating, though they never live up to the nostalgic loveliness I always hope for.
Love this and you've reminded me of a tree I loved to climb in the park behind our house. I used to spend hours up there looking out and pretending to be a bird.
